Our Staff

Our law firm operates as a team, helping one another to deliver good outcomes for our clients and our legal assistants are an important part of this team.

Molly Hagge, Legal Assistant

Molly was born and raised in Bemidji. She played hockey, softball and tennis until she graduated from Bemidji High School. She attended secondary schooling, after which, she became a Certified Nurse Assistant. She first started working with our firm in 2018 until early 2021. She moved to Duluth, MN for a few years and then returned to Bemidji, MN.

She began working for our firm again in April of 2024. She enjoys helping others in all aspects, especially working for our firm as a legal assistant. She looks forward to improving her knowledge as a legal assistant and continuing to help those in need.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her dog. She also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.

Brandon Hanko, Legal Assistant

Brandon graduated, cum laude, from Michigan Technological University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Ecology and Environmental Science. He has spent portions of his career working primarily outdoors as a field biologist and wetland delineator, which entailed collecting data for private companies as well as state and federal entities. Brandon first joined Rodgers Law Office in March 2017 for almost 3 years and then returned in June 2024 after he decided to hang up his work boots and pursue work closer to home in the legal field. He thoroughly enjoys learning about the Minnesota’s Workers’ Compensation system and helping injured workers navigate their way through it.

Outside of work, Brandon enjoys spending time with his daughter and dog and taking in all that northern Minnesota has to offer. His hobbies include hiking, botanizing, cooking, swimming, puzzles, following Minnesota sports teams, and enjoying quality time with family and friends.

Taylor Newhouse, Legal Assistant

Taylor graduated from Elk River High School in 2015 and graduated with honors from Anoka Technical College in May of 2022 with a Legal Administrative Assistant Degree. Taylor started at Rodgers Law Office in January of 2022 for her internship and has been with the office since. Taylor really enjoys the legal assistant career and expanding her knowledge along the way.

Taylor is married and has 2 children and a dog. Taylor is always keeping busy not only in the office but also running after her children at home. Taylor enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.

Kelly Skugrud, Legal Assistant

Kelly graduated from Bemidji High School in 1991. In high school she was active in Drama Club and competed on the Speech team. She graduated from Bemidji State University in 1994, double majoring in Psychology and Criminal Justice. After graduating from Bemidji State University, she worked in Juvenile Corrections for 25 years. In 2015, Kelly made the decision to continue her education in the Criminal Justice field by attending Concordia University, St. Paul. She attained her master’s degree in Criminal Justice Leadership in 2017.

After a rewarding career working with juveniles, she made the decision to learn another facet of the justice system. Kelly joined Rodgers Law Office in June of 2024 and is having fun learning more about workman’s compensation and personal injury laws while continuing to help others in need. She is having fun interacting with all the staff, learning a new area of the law, interacting with the clients via phone and email, and completing a variety of tasks each day. Each day has been and continues to be new, different, and exciting.

Kelly opened her own small business in 2022, which keeps her busy. She also likes the outdoors, hunting, reading, baking, meeting new people, and being with friends and family.

TESTIMONIAL

What Clients Say About Us

Mark Rodgers has invested himself in helping people in unfair situations and he cares about the difference between right and wrong. When many others would not, Mark went out of his way to help me and took his time to consult with me. He was willing to get involved and stand with me as a representative to help confront an extraordinarily unfair situation that I would otherwise have had to face alone. Mark communicated consistently and was both encouraging and supportive. In addition, my experiences with the office staff at Rodgers law were very positive and they all deserve recognition for being exceptionally helpful, organized, responsive, accurate, and professional.
